Tuned wind chimes qualities

Why a Tuned Wind Chime is better...

So, what's a wind chime? Well, it's a decorative device that will make sounds when the wind blows upon it- almost. A wind chime usually works when the wind blows on a "clapper" which will then strike another portion, usually one of the hanging chimes, to produce a musical note. Wind chimes are more popularly made with hollow aluminum tubes that are used for the chimes of a wind chime. Why? Well, many wind chime experts think that it has the most resonance and it's also lightweight which is a great factor as other parts of the chime would carry less stress than if it was to hold another heavier material.

Many wind chimes are designed to be "tuned". What this means is that it gives out a more aesthetically pleasing sound as it's made to do so by the material, cutting, length and spacing of chimes. Sometimes, formulas and measurements are closely used to produce a "tuned" wind chime so that its music is more melodic.

In hearing an "un-tuned" wind chime and a "tuned" wind chime, a clear difference can be heard among the two. Some characteristics that can be easily spotted on a tuned wind chime include having the "clapper" strike each chime at about the middle of all the chimes that are hung. These chimes will also vary in hanging as there should be differently hung heights so that the sound/tone of the wind chime can be heard in first, second and third note.

In most cases, you'll also find that tuned wind chimes will be pricier than un-tuned wind chimes. It's perfectly sensible as tuned wind chimes take more time and effort to make with its precision and cut so that it can produce wonderful tones.
